On a sunny Saturday, Mira kneels on the sidewalk with her pouch of coloured chalk and draws a castle with tall towers and a wavy flag. Her friend Toby, wearing his green hoodie and round glasses, joins in with a bucket of chunky chalk, and together they set out to draw a whole kingdom. To their astonishment, the chalk lines shimmer and pop up into a tiny living world, where a thumb-sized ruler named Prince Pip stands on the castle wall in his gold crown and red cape. Pip is proud of his kingdom but admits he is lonely and wishes he could visit other kingdoms.
Mira and Toby begin drawing more kingdoms, and new tiny rulers appear: Queen Doodle, with lavender skin and a tall silver bun, and later a little knight and a wizard. Each kingdom is separated by a wide gap of plain sidewalk, so the children decide to build a safe road and a strong bridge to connect them all. The work is not easy. Lines wobble, the road needs to be longer, and bumps must be smoothed out. Prince Pip draws with his silver chalk sword, Queen Doodle waves her wand to make gates, and everyone contributes trees, flowers and a welcome sign. Toby tests the bridge with a pebble to be sure it is safe.
The story follows these characters as they learn to share ideas, take turns and help one another until every kingdom is joined by a single road. It shows young readers how teamwork and creativity can turn separate small worlds into one welcoming community, and it gently reminds them that careful planning and listening to others matter as much as imagination. The book suits children who enjoy gentle fantasy and stories about friendship, cooperation and building something together.

A Chapter from the Book
The Chalk Kingdom Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN
On a sunny Saturday, Mira knelt on the sidewalk with her pouch of coloured chalk. She drew a castle with tall towers and a wavy flag. Her friend Toby watched and smiled. He carried a bucket of chunky chalk and wore his green hoodie. 'Let's draw a whole kingdom!' Mira said, her gap-toothed grin shining. She sketched hills and a winding path, humming as she worked. 1
Mira's chalk lines wiggled and shimmered, then popped up into a tiny kingdom! A little prince no bigger than a thumb stood on the castle wall. He had a gold crown and a red cape that fluttered in the breeze. 'I am Prince Pip!' he announced proudly. 'Welcome to my kingdom!' Mira gasped and clapped her chalky hands. 'You're alive!' she cried. 'And you're tiny!' 2
Prince Pip bowed, then frowned. 'My kingdom is lovely, but I am all alone,' he said. 'I wish I could visit other kingdoms.' Mira looked at Toby. 'We can draw more kingdoms!' she said. Toby nodded and pulled out his chalk. 'I'll make one with big hills,' he said. 'And a bridge,' Mira added. 'A safe road to connect them all!' They started drawing right away. 3
Toby drew a sturdy castle on a hill. He added winding paths and a deep moat. 'I'm making a bridge,' he said, adjusting his round glasses. 'A strong arch bridge.' When he finished, a tiny queen appeared. She had lavender skin and a tall silver bun. 'I am Queen Doodle,' she said, winking. 'What a wonderful bridge! But how will I visit the other kingdom?' 4
Mira and Toby looked at the two kingdoms. A wide gap of plain sidewalk stretched between them. 'We need a road,' Mira said. 'A safe road that connects every kingdom.' Toby measured the gap with his chalk. 'I can build a bridge across,' he said. 'But we need more chalk.' Mira opened her pouch. 'I have plenty!' she said. 'Let's start with a path.' 5
Mira drew a straight road from Prince Pip's castle to the edge of his kingdom. Toby drew a road from Queen Doodle's castle to the other side. But when they tried to join the roads, a gap remained. 'The road needs to be longer,' Toby said. 'And we need a bridge over the moat.' Prince Pip called out, 'I can help! My sword draws lines!' 6
Prince Pip used his silver chalk sword to draw a line across the gap. But the line wobbled. 'It's not straight,' Toby said. 'The road must be safe.' Queen Doodle waved her wand. 'I can draw gates,' she said. 'But we need something to connect them.' Mira thought. 'Let's work together!' she said. 'We'll each draw a part of the road.' 7
Mira drew a smooth path. Toby drew a strong arch bridge. Prince Pip drew straight lines with his sword. Queen Doodle drew pretty gates. But when they finished, the road still had bumps. 'We need to make it smooth,' Toby said. 'And we need trees for shade.' Mira smiled. 'Let's add trees and flowers!' she said. 'And a sign to show the way.' 8
All together, they drew trees with leafy branches. They added flowers and bushes. Toby made sure the bridge was strong. 'Test it with a pebble,' he said. Mira rolled a pebble across. It went over the bridge and down the road. 'It works!' she cheered. Prince Pip and Queen Doodle clapped their tiny hands. 'Now we can visit each other!' they said. 9
Mira drew a welcome sign at the start of the road. Toby added a gate that opened wide. 'The road is safe now,' he said. 'But we need to connect all the kingdoms.' Mira looked around. 'Are there more?' she asked. Just then, they heard tiny voices. 'Hello! Can we join too?' Two more chalk kingdoms had appeared on the sidewalk! 10
The new kingdoms had their own rulers: a tiny knight and a little wizard. 'We want to visit too,' they said. 'But our kingdoms are far away.' Mira smiled. 'We'll build a road to you as well!' she said. Toby measured the distance. 'It's a long way,' he said. 'But we can do it together.' They all shared ideas and started drawing. 11
Prince Pip used his sword to draw a straight line. Queen Doodle waved her wand to make gates. The knight drew a bridge. The wizard drew a tunnel. Mira and Toby drew the road. They worked as a team, taking turns and helping each other. 'This is fun!' Toby said. 'And our world is getting bigger!' Mira added, 'And more fun!' 12
Finally, the road connected every kingdom. There were bridges, gates, trees, and even a tunnel. The rulers could visit one another easily. 'Thank you!' they said to Mira and Toby. 'You made our world wonderful.' Mira beamed. 'We couldn't have done it without teamwork,' she said. 'And creativity!' Toby added. They all cheered and danced on the chalk road. 13
The chalk kingdom grew and grew. New drawings appeared every day: a market, a park, a river with a boat. Prince Pip and Queen Doodle became best friends. They invited everyone to a party in the castle. 'Come one, come all!' they called. Mira and Toby drew a big table with tiny chairs and a cake with candles. The tiny rulers cheered.
