The Lost Crown is a children's fairy tale by Yavuz Demirkıran about a kingdom whose royal crown has gone missing and the young heroes who set out to find it. When the crown disappears, the order of the realm is shaken, and it falls to a small group of determined children to follow the clues across forests, villages and hidden places. Along the way they meet helpers and tricksters, face riddles and small dangers, and learn that courage rarely looks the way they expected.
The story is built around the classic pleasures of the fairy tale form: a clear quest, vivid settings, memorable characters and a moral that emerges from the action rather than from a lecture. Young readers follow the children as they cooperate, make mistakes, recover from them and discover that honesty, kindness and quick thinking matter more than strength. The mystery of the crown's whereabouts keeps the pages turning, while the warm narrative voice makes the book suitable for reading aloud at bedtime as well as for independent readers.
The Lost Crown is aimed at children in the early primary years and at parents, teachers and storytellers looking for a gentle adventure with a satisfying resolution. It works well as a classroom read-aloud, a first longer book for confident young readers, or a shared family story. Readers who enjoy traditional fairy-tale structure with a fresh, child-centred point of view will find much to like here.

The Lost Crown Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN
In the heart of a green valley stood a castle with tall towers and fluttering flags. Princess Lily lived there with her father, the king. She had honey-blonde hair and emerald-green eyes that sparkled with curiosity. Every morning, she waved goodbye as the king placed his golden crown on his head. The crown kept the kingdom's magical shield strong and bright. 1
One sunny morning, the king called for Lily in a worried voice. "My crown is gone!" he said. Lily gasped. Without the crown, the magical shield around the kingdom would fade. Already, the shield shimmered weaker at the edges. Lily looked at her father's sad face and made a brave decision. "I will find your crown," she said. "I promise." 2
Lily put on her sky-blue dress and her silver star-shaped hair clip. She packed a small bag with bread and apples. Outside the castle, she met Sir Benny, the friendly knight. His silver armour gleamed, and his red cape flapped in the breeze. "I will guard you, Princess," he said with a smile. Just then, a russetred squirrel with a chipped ear scampered down a tree. 3
"I'm Nutkin!" the squirrel chattered. "I know every tree and trail. I can help you find the crown!" Lily laughed. "Welcome, Nutkin!" she said. The three friends set off beyond the castle walls. The path was bumpy, and Sir Benny tripped over a root. "Oops!" he said, but he got up with a grin. Nutkin dashed ahead, his fluffy tail waving like a flag. 4
They walked through a whispering forest where sunlight danced on leaves. Nutkin scouted ahead, his bright black eyes missing nothing. "The crown didn't just vanish," he said. "Someone took it. I saw big footprints near the castle!" Sir Benny nodded. "We'll follow them," he said. Lily felt a flutter in her tummy, but she kept walking. She knew she had to be brave. 5
The footprints led to a rocky mountain path. Sir Benny's armour clinked as he climbed. "I hope whoever took the crown isn't scary," he said. Lily squeezed his hand. "We'll be kind, whatever happens," she said. Nutkin stopped and pointed with his tiny paw. "Look! A cave!" he whispered. Smoke curled from the entrance. Lily took a deep breath. "Let's go see," she said. 6
Inside the cave, they found a big, round troll sitting on a rock. He wore a patched brown vest and a rope belt with a wooden spoon. On his head sat the golden crown! The troll's amber eyes widened. "Go away!" he grumbled. "This crown makes me important!" Lily stepped forward. "Hello," she said gently. "I'm Lily. What's your name?" The troll blinked. "Grumble," he mumbled. 7
"Why do you need the crown to feel important?" Lily asked. Grumble looked down. "No one visits me," he said. "The crown makes me feel special." Sir Benny smiled kindly. "You don't need a crown to be special," he said. Nutkin nodded. "We came all this way to meet you!" Lily said. "Will you be our friend?" Grumble's shy expression softened. He had never had friends before. 8
Grumble carefully lifted the crown from his head. "You really want to be my friend?" he asked. "Even though I took the crown?" Lily nodded. "Everyone makes mistakes," she said. "But friendship is better than any crown." Grumble handed the crown to Lily. "Here," he said. "I'm sorry." Sir Benny patted Grumble's big arm. "You can visit us anytime," he said. Grumble smiled for the first time. 9
Lily held the crown tightly as they walked back to the castle. The magical shield was very faint now, but Lily knew they could fix it. Grumble walked with them, his big feet thumping softly. "I've never been to a castle," he said. Nutkin rode on his shoulder. "You'll love it!" he chattered. Sir Benny told jokes, and everyone laughed. The kingdom's troubles felt lighter with friends. 10
When they reached the castle, the king rushed out. "You found my crown!" he cried. Lily placed it in his hands. "And we made a new friend," she said. The king looked at Grumble. "Thank you for returning it," he said. Grumble blushed. "Lily showed me kindness," he said. "I want to be kind too." The king placed the crown on his head, and the magical shield sparkled brighter than ever. 11
The king declared a feast to celebrate. There was music and dancing in the great hall. Grumble sat at the table, and Nutkin nibbled acorns beside him. Sir Benny told the story of their adventure, tripping over a chair as he acted it out. Everyone cheered. Lily felt warm inside. She had saved the kingdom not by fighting, but by being honest and kind. 12
From that day, Grumble visited the castle often. He helped in the gardens and told funny stories. Nutkin became the castle's official acorn collector. Sir Benny practiced his knightly steps without tripping—mostly. And Lily learned that true leadership means listening, being honest, and offering friendship. The kingdom was safe, and everyone was happy. 13
One evening, Lily sat with her father on the castle wall. "You were very brave," the king said. "And very kind," he added. "A good leader solves problems with honesty and kindness, just like you did." Lily smiled. "Grumble taught me that," she said. "Sometimes the scariest-looking creatures just need a friend." The king hugged her. The magical shield glowed softly around them.
