In the heart of the green forest, where gum trees sway and birds sing, lives a small koala named Kiki. Every morning, Kiki wakes up with a million ideas buzzing in her head like busy bees. Today, she declares, she will be the busiest animal in the whole forest. With her red polka-dot apron and yellow satchel, she sets out with a long list: paint her house, visit friends, learn music, and have a picnic. But as Kiki rushes from one task to the next, she discovers that being busy isn't as easy as it seems. She paints too fast, drips paint everywhere, and forgets to rest. When she visits her friend Bo the bear, she declines his offer of honey cakes because she has no time. At her music lesson, she is too tired to focus, and when she tries to set up the picnic, she makes a mess.
Fortunately, Kiki's friends Mira the rabbit and Bo the bear notice her struggle. They gently suggest that she can't do everything at once and help her create a simpler plan with rest breaks. The next day, Kiki wakes up fresh and takes her time. She paints her house neatly, enjoys lemonade and butterflies, shares honey cakes with Bo, and learns music with focus. She even helps Mira water the flowers. Finally, the picnic day arrives, and Kiki plays her flute for her friends, feeling proud and happy.
This charming children's tale teaches young readers the importance of balancing activities with rest and the value of planning. Through Kiki's experiences, children learn that being busy isn't the same as being happy, and that taking breaks and asking for help can lead to greater enjoyment and success. The story is perfect for bedtime reading or classroom discussions about time management and friendship.

A Chapter from the Book
The Koala's Busy Day Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN
In the heart of the green forest, where gum trees swayed and birds sang, lived a small koala named Kiki. She had soft grey fur, fluffy round ears with cream inner tufts, and a big black nose. Every morning, Kiki woke up with a million ideas buzzing in her head like busy bees. 'Today I will be the busiest animal in the whole forest!' she announced to the mirror. 1
Kiki put on her red polka-dot apron and grabbed her yellow satchel. She pulled out a long list and read it aloud. 'First, paint my house. Then visit friends. Learn music. And have a picnic!' Her large dark brown eyes sparkled with excitement. She clipped a tiny blue music note hair clip in her fur and dashed out the door. 2
Outside, the forest was warm and bright. Kiki's friend Mira the rabbit was watering her garden. Mira wore teal gardening overalls and an orange scarf, and her long ears twitched as she smiled. 'You look busy, Kiki!' Mira said. 'I am the busiest!' Kiki cheered. 'I have a huge plan for today!' Mira adjusted her round glasses. 'That's a lot. Maybe take it slow?' But Kiki was already gone. 3
Kiki started painting her house bright yellow. She splashed paint everywhere, humming a happy tune. But she painted too fast, and drips ran down the windows. 'Oops!' she giggled. She wanted to finish quickly so she could do everything else. Soon her paws were sticky and her apron was covered in spots. She didn't stop to rest, even though her arms felt tired. 4
Next, Kiki hurried to visit her friend Bo the bear. Bo was big and honey-brown, wearing a green striped shirt and a straw hat. He was setting out honey cakes. 'Hello, Kiki!' Bo said warmly. 'Would you like a snack?' Kiki shook her head. 'No time! I have to learn music and plan a picnic!' Bo raised an eyebrow. 'You seem in a rush. Stay and rest a bit?' But Kiki was already off again. 5
Kiki went to her music lesson with a friendly parrot. She tried to play the flute, but her fingers were clumsy and her mind was elsewhere. She kept thinking about the picnic and the painting. 'Pay attention, Kiki,' the parrot squawked. Kiki tried again, but she was too tired to focus. She forgot the notes and felt frustrated. 'Maybe I should skip music today,' she sighed. 6
Then Kiki remembered the picnic. She had promised to organize it for all her friends. She rushed to the meadow and started setting up blankets and baskets. But she was so tired that she put the sandwiches under the blanket and sat on the plates. 'Oh no!' she cried. 'I'm making a mess!' Her friends arrived and saw Kiki looking flustered and forgetful. 7
Mira and Bo came over quickly. 'Kiki, you look exhausted,' Mira said gently. 'You've been rushing all day.' Bo nodded. 'You can't do everything at once. Let's help you make a simpler plan.' Kiki's cheeks turned rosy. 'But I wanted to be the busiest animal in the forest!' she whispered. 'Being busy isn't the same as being happy,' Mira said kindly. 8
Mira pulled out a small notebook. 'Let's plan your day with rest breaks,' she said. 'First, finish painting your house, but take your time. Then have lunch and a nap. After that, visit friends and learn music. The picnic can be tomorrow.' Kiki listened carefully. 'That sounds... nice,' she said. 'I won't have to rush.' Bo smiled. 'And we'll help you!' 9
The next day, Kiki woke up feeling fresh. She painted her house slowly, making sure every stroke was neat. She took a break to drink lemonade and watch the butterflies. Then she visited Bo and shared honey cakes. 'This is fun!' Kiki said. 'I'm not tired at all.' Bo laughed. 'That's because you're taking your time.' Kiki felt proud of her neat painting. 10
In the afternoon, Kiki had her music lesson again. This time, she remembered every note. The parrot praised her. 'You're doing great, Kiki!' Then she met Mira in the garden and helped water the flowers. 'You seem much happier today,' Mira said. Kiki nodded. 'I learned that rest helps me enjoy things more.' She gave Mira a big hug. 11
Finally, the picnic day arrived. Kiki, Mira, and Bo spread blankets in the sunny meadow. They shared sandwiches, fruit, and honey cakes. Kiki played her flute for them, and everyone clapped. 'This is the best picnic ever!' Bo cheered. Kiki smiled. 'It's because I planned it well and took breaks.' They all laughed and enjoyed the warm afternoon together. 12
As the sun began to set, Kiki felt calm and happy. She had done fewer things, but she had done them well. She had painted her house, visited friends, learned music, and had a wonderful picnic. 'I don't need to be the busiest,' she said. 'I just need to be happy.' Her friends nodded. 'And rested!' Mira added with a smile. 13
Kiki realized that rest and good planning made her busy day fun. She learned that doing fewer things well feels much better than rushing through everything. From then on, she always made time for breaks. And she never forgot to enjoy each moment with her friends. The forest felt peaceful, and Kiki's heart was full.
