🎧 Listen to the Story · 6:52

Polly the parrot lives in a tall oak tree at the edge of the forest, her emerald feathers and golden chest bright against the leaves. One breezy morning she finds a map made of golden leaves stitched with spider silk, showing a winding path to a secret fruit grove hidden deep in the woods. Excited, she tucks it under her wing and sets out to follow it.

On her way she meets her friends Bramble the bear, Twitch the rabbit and Hoot the owl, all tired and worried because the forest has few fruits this year and winter is coming. Polly shows them the map, and the four set off together. Twitch scouts ahead, Bramble carries his straw basket, Hoot reads the map and Polly guides from above. They cross a rushing stream, push through a tangle of vines and find their way past an old stump, helping one another whenever the path grows difficult.

At last they reach the hidden grove, where trees hang heavy with oranges, apples and berries. Realising they cannot carry all the fruit alone, they return to tell the other animals, and deer, squirrels and birds join them to gather enough for everyone. The story shows young readers how a shared discovery becomes more valuable when it is shared with others, and that teamwork and helping friends make any journey easier.

The Parrot's Golden Map Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN

Polly the parrot lived in a tall oak tree at the edge of the forest. Her feathers were bright emerald green, and her chest shone like a golden sun. She loved to fly high and explore new places. One breezy morning, she spotted something shiny caught in a branch. It was a map made of golden leaves, stitched together with spider silk. 1

Polly perched on a branch and studied the map with her curious amber eyes. The golden leaves showed a winding path through the forest. It led to a secret fruit grove, hidden deep in the woods. Polly's heart raced with excitement. She had never seen such a wonderful map before. She rolled it up carefully and tucked it under her wing. 2

As Polly flew over the forest, she saw her friends working hard. Bramble the bear was picking berries with his big straw basket. Twitch the rabbit was hopping quickly, searching for nuts. Hoot the owl was planning where to find food for winter. They all looked tired and worried. The forest had few fruits this year, and winter was coming soon. 3

Polly landed on a low branch near Bramble. "Why do you look so worried?" she asked. Bramble sighed and said, "There are not enough berries for winter. We have to search all day." Twitch nodded, his pink nose twitching. Hoot adjusted his round spectacles and said, "We need a better plan." Polly thought for a moment, then remembered the golden map. 4

Polly pulled out the golden leaf map and showed it to her friends. "Look what I found!" she chirped. "It leads to a hidden fruit grove!" Bramble's round dark eyes grew wide. Twitch hopped closer, his long ears standing straight up. Hoot studied the map carefully. "This is wonderful!" he said. "But we must follow it together." Everyone agreed, and they set off. 5

Twitch hopped ahead as the scout. His blue scarf fluttered as he checked the path. "This way!" he called. Bramble carried his straw basket and followed behind. Hoot read the map, turning it this way and that. Polly flew above, guiding them with her sharp eyes. The path was winding, but they helped each other along. The golden leaves rustled in the breeze. 6

Soon they came to a rushing stream. The water was too deep for Twitch to hop across. "I can't make it!" he cried. Bramble stepped forward. "Climb on my back," he said gently. Twitch hopped onto the bear's broad shoulders. Bramble waded carefully through the water. Polly flew overhead, cheering them on. Hoot watched from the bank, making sure everyone was safe. 7

After crossing the stream, they reached a thick tangle of vines. The path seemed blocked. Twitch twitched his nose and hopped around, looking for a way through. "Here!" he called. "There's a small gap!" Bramble pushed the vines aside with his strong paws. Hoot held the map steady. Polly flew through the gap and called, "Come on! We're almost there!" One by one, they squeezed through. 8

On the other side, the forest grew darker and the path twisted. Twitch's ears drooped. "Are we lost?" he whispered. Hoot peered at the map through his spectacles. "No, we must turn left at the old stump." Polly spotted the stump from above. "There it is!" she squawked. They turned left and kept going. Bramble hummed a tune to keep their spirits up. 9

Finally, they saw a bright opening ahead. The golden leaves on the map shimmered as if they were glowing. Polly flew ahead and gasped. "Look!" she cried. Before them was a hidden grove filled with trees heavy with juicy fruit. Oranges, apples, and berries hung from every branch. The sweet smell filled the air. Bramble's basket was ready, and everyone cheered with delight. 10

But then Polly noticed something. The grove was wonderful, but they couldn't carry all the fruit by themselves. "We need more help," she said. Hoot nodded. "We should share this discovery with the other animals." Bramble and Twitch agreed. They hurried back to the forest and told everyone about the grove. Soon, deer, squirrels, and birds joined them. 11

Together, the animals followed the golden map back to the grove. Everyone worked as a team. Bramble carried heavy loads in his basket. Twitch scouted the best trees. Hoot guided them with the map. Polly flew from tree to tree, calling out where the fruit was ripest. They gathered apples, berries, and oranges until every basket was full. Laughter echoed through the grove. 12

As the sun began to set, the animals sat together and shared a delicious meal. Polly looked around at her friends, their faces happy and full. "Exploring is more fun when we do it together," she said. Bramble smiled. "And sharing makes it even better." Twitch twitched his nose in agreement. Hoot adjusted his spectacles and said, "We make a great team." 13

The animals carried their fruit home, enough to last through the winter. Polly kept the golden map safe under her wing. She knew it would lead to more adventures. But she also knew that the best adventures were the ones shared with friends. From that day on, the animals always helped each other, and the forest was a happier place. 14

Polly often visited the grove with her friends. They would gather fruit and share it with anyone in need. The golden map became a symbol of their cooperation. Whenever someone found something good, they remembered Polly's lesson: sharing makes good things even better. And the parrot with emerald feathers and a golden chest was always ready for the next adventure.
