The Flying Teapot is a children's fairy tale by Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN that takes young readers on a whimsical journey built around one of the most ordinary objects in a home: a teapot that, to everyone's surprise, can fly. The story unfolds in a world where everyday things may hide a little magic, and where curiosity is rewarded with adventure. At its heart, the tale follows the teapot and the children who encounter it, showing how an unexpected discovery can turn an ordinary day into something memorable.
Through gentle storytelling and imaginative scenes, the book explores themes children can easily relate to: friendship, kindness, courage, and the importance of looking at the world with wonder. The flying teapot is not merely a fantastic device but a companion that invites the characters, and the reader, to ask questions, to help one another, and to see that small acts of care can matter a great deal. The fairy-tale setting keeps the tone warm and playful while still leaving room for simple lessons about trust and responsibility.
The book is written for young children, roughly the picture-book and early-reader years, and works well as a read-aloud story for parents, teachers, and caregivers. Its short, clear narrative and vivid imagery make it suitable for bedtime reading or classroom sharing, and it can serve as a starting point for conversations about imagination and friendship. Readers who enjoy lighthearted tales with a touch of magic will find The Flying Teapot an inviting introduction to the pleasure of stories.

A Chapter from the Book
The Flying Teapot Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN
Grandpa Henry was a cheerful inventor who lived in a little cottage at the edge of the countryside. He loved tinkering with old things, and his favorite was a glossy cream teapot with gold trim and a floral pattern. One sunny morning, he filled it with warm lemonade and set it on the table. Suddenly, the teapot's tiny brass propeller began to whir, and it lifted off the table! 1
Grandpa Henry's twinkling blue eyes grew wide behind his round glasses. He watched the teapot hover in the air, its small glowing gauge flickering. He quickly called his granddaughter, Lily, who was visiting for the day. Lily ran in, her yellow raincoat flapping, her freckled face full of curiosity. "Grandpa, your teapot is flying!" she cried with a gap-toothed smile. 2
Grandpa Henry chuckled and patted his white moustache. "It must be the warm lemonade!" he said. He strapped on the teapot's tiny leather belt with a compass and climbed aboard. Lily hopped on behind him, her auburn hair bouncing. The teapot rose gently into the blue sky, and they waved goodbye to the cottage. The flying teapot was ready for a countryside adventure! 3
They sailed over rolling green hills and patchwork fields. Below, cows looked up in surprise. The teapot's spout puffed little clouds of lemon-scented steam. Lily pointed at strange villages where houses were painted in bright colors and gardens grew in funny shapes. "Look, Grandpa!" she shouted. "That house looks like a shoe!" They laughed as they floated past. 4
Soon they met a family of chimney birds, led by Pip, a tiny bird with sooty grey and orange feathers and a blue knitted scarf. Pip wore a miniature scarf and had singed tail feathers from living in chimneys. "Hello up there!" Pip chirped. "Would you like to see something special? Follow me!" The birds led the way, and the teapot hummed along. 5
Pip guided them to a mysterious floating orchard that hovered among the clouds. Apple trees and pear trees grew on a grassy island, their roots dangling in the air. "Wow!" Lily gasped. "How does it float?" Pip explained that the orchard was full of magic and that the fruit was the sweetest in the sky. They landed gently on the soft grass. 6
They explored the floating orchard, picking juicy apples and pears. Lily spotted a tiny scarecrow made of twigs and a hat. Grandpa Henry examined the trees and found that their roots were tangled with glowing mushrooms. "Ingenious!" he said. "The mushrooms make the island light enough to float." They made friends with a family of rabbits who lived in the orchard. 7
But when they returned to the teapot, the gauge was low and the propeller was slowing down. "Oh no!" Grandpa Henry cried. "The lemonade is running out!" The teapot could no longer fly, and it settled on the floating orchard. They were stranded high above the ground, and the sun was beginning to set. Lily looked worried. "What do we do now?" 8
Pip fluttered down beside them. "Don't worry," he chirped. "My family can help. We know every chimney and every breeze. But we need a new way to power your teapot." Grandpa Henry stroked his moustache and thought hard. Lily looked around the orchard and had an idea. "Grandpa, the mushrooms glow! Maybe they have power, too!" 9
Grandpa Henry's eyes lit up. "Lily, you're a genius!" He carefully picked a few glowing mushrooms and placed them in the teapot's water tank. But the teapot didn't move. "Maybe they need warmth," Lily suggested. They wrapped the mushrooms in a warm cloth, and the gauge began to glow again. The propeller spun slowly, then faster! 10
The teapot lifted off the floating orchard, but it wobbled unsteadily. "We need more power!" Grandpa Henry said. Then Pip had a clever idea. "The chimney birds can blow warm air from their chimneys!" he tweeted. The birds flew around the teapot, flapping their wings and blowing warm air onto the mushrooms. The teapot rose higher and steadied. 11
With the birds' help, the teapot soared smoothly through the evening sky. The mushrooms glowed warmly, and the gauge showed full power. Grandpa Henry and Lily cheered. "Thank you, Pip and family!" they called. The birds chirped goodbye and flew back to their chimneys. The flying teapot headed home, with the sunset painting the clouds pink and gold. 12
As they flew, Lily said, "Grandpa, we solved the problem with mushrooms and birds!" Grandpa Henry nodded. "That's right, Lily. When we use our imagination and work together, ordinary things can become extraordinary." The teapot hummed in agreement, its gold trim sparkling. They floated over the countryside, watching the stars begin to twinkle. 13
They landed softly in the garden just as the moon rose. Grandma was waiting with a warm supper. "Where have you been?" she asked. Lily and Grandpa Henry exchanged a smile. "On a flying teapot adventure!" Lily said. They told Grandma all about the floating orchard, the chimney birds, and the clever mushroom power. The teapot sat on the table, its propeller still. 14
The next morning, Grandpa Henry polished the teapot and hung a tiny sign that said "Adventure Ready." Lily filled it with warm lemonade, and the teapot hummed to life. "Can we go again?" Lily asked. "Of course!" Grandpa Henry said. "But let's bring extra lemonade and maybe some mushrooms, too!" They laughed, ready for more adventures.
