🎧 Listen to the Story · 6:36

In the middle of a sunny meadow stands a giant honeycomb with hundreds of little six-sided rooms, all golden and sweet-smelling. This is the Honeycomb Hotel, and Bella the bee is its keeper. Wearing a sky-blue apron and a tiny red bow on one antenna, Bella fluffs the pollen pillows, polishes the wax floors and welcomes every traveler with a warm buzz and a little pot of fresh nectar by the door.

One day a shy ladybug named Daisy arrives with a tiny yellow backpack and a green leaf hat, and soon after a cheerful butterfly called Flick flutters in with a purple satchel. Word of Bella's hospitality spreads across the meadow, and by the next morning beetles, moths and even a tired firefly are queuing at the lobby. Every room is taken, more guests keep coming, and Bella cannot bear to turn anyone away. Unsure what to do, she turns to Grandpa Buzz, the elderly bee in wire glasses and a knitted scarf, for advice.

What follows is a story about asking for help and working together. Young readers will follow Bella as she learns that a problem too big for one small bee can be solved by friends, and they will see how kindness and teamwork turn a crowded, worried day into a celebration shared by everyone under the honeycomb roof. The tale is suited to children being read to at bedtime or taking their first steps into independent reading.

A Chapter from the Book

The Honeycomb Hotel Yavuz DEMİRKIRAN

In the middle of a sunny meadow stood a giant honeycomb. It had hundreds of little six-sided rooms, all golden and sweetsmelling. This was the Honeycomb Hotel, and Bella the bee was its keeper. She wore a sky-blue apron and a tiny red bow on one antenna. Every morning, she fluffed the pollen pillows and polished the wax floors. 1

Bella loved welcoming guests from all across the meadow. Her round dark eyes sparkled as she showed them to their rooms. 'Welcome to the Honeycomb Hotel!' she would buzz happily. 'Make yourself at home.' She always kept a little pot of fresh nectar by the door. Guests came from near and far, and Bella made each one feel special. 2

One day, a shy ladybug named Daisy arrived. She wore a tiny yellow backpack and a little green leaf hat. 'I've traveled a long way,' Daisy whispered. 'Do you have a room?' Bella smiled warmly. 'Of course! We have the coziest room just for you.' She led Daisy to a snug little cell with a soft moss bed. 3

Soon more travelers appeared. A cheerful butterfly named Flick fluttered in with a purple satchel. 'What a lovely hotel!' he said. 'I've heard so much about your hospitality.' Bella gave him a room with a view of the daisy field. Flick loved it and promised to tell all his friends. Bella felt proud of her little hotel. 4

The next morning, the meadow buzzed with excitement. Word had spread about the wonderful Honeycomb Hotel. Travelers came from every direction: beetles, moths, and even a tired firefly. Bella welcomed them all with a smile. But as the day went on, the hotel began to fill up. Rooms were disappearing fast, and Bella started to worry. 5

By noon, the lobby was crowded with guests. Daisy peeked out of her room and gasped. 'So many travelers!' she said. Flick fluttered nervously. 'Where will they all sleep?' Bella looked around. Every room was taken, and more guests kept arriving. She didn't want to turn anyone away, but there was simply no space left. 6

Bella's wings drooped. 'Oh dear,' she buzzed. 'I can't send them away. But I don't have any more rooms.' She thought and thought, but no solution came. The guests looked tired and worried. Bella felt a knot in her tummy. She needed help, but she didn't know who to ask. Then she remembered Grandpa Buzz. 7

Bella flew to Grandpa Buzz's cozy corner. The elderly bee sat on a honeycomb ledge, wearing his round wire glasses and a brown knitted scarf. 'Grandpa,' Bella said, 'the hotel is full, and more guests keep coming! What should I do?' Grandpa Buzz adjusted his glasses and gave a wise smile. 'Ask the worker bees for help,' he said. 'Together, you can build new rooms.' 8

Bella zoomed back to the hotel and called all the worker bees. 'Friends,' she said, 'we have many guests and not enough rooms. Will you help me build more?' The worker bees buzzed with excitement. 'Yes! We can do it!' they cried. They gathered wax and got ready to work. Bella felt a flutter of hope. 9

The worker bees formed a busy line. Some chewed wax, some shaped it into perfect six-sided rooms, and others smoothed the walls. Bella flew from one to another, cheering them on. 'Great job! Keep going!' she buzzed. Daisy and Flick watched in wonder. The honeycomb grew and grew. New rooms appeared like magic, each one neat and strong. 10

By evening, the new rooms were ready. There was space for every single guest. Flick fluttered into a bright new room. 'This is amazing!' he exclaimed. Daisy bounced on her moss bed. 'I feel so at home.' The other travelers buzzed and chirped with joy. Bella's heart swelled with happiness. Everyone had a place to sleep. 11

Grandpa Buzz came to see the finished hotel. He leaned on his walking stick and smiled. 'You see, Bella? Teamwork makes everything possible.' Bella nodded. 'Thank you, Grandpa. I couldn't have done it without the worker bees.' The hotel was now twice as big, and it sparkled in the evening light. All the guests gathered for a thank-you party. 12

That night, the Honeycomb Hotel glowed with warmth. Guests shared stories and nectar. Daisy and Flick became friends. 'This is the best hotel ever,' Daisy said. 'And the kindest,' Flick agreed. Bella looked around at all the happy faces. She realized that kindness and teamwork had turned a problem into a celebration. 13

The next morning, Bella thanked the worker bees again. 'You saved the day!' she said. The worker bees buzzed proudly. 'We're happy to help,' they replied. From then on, Bella knew she could always count on her friends. The hotel continued to welcome guests, and every visitor felt like family. The Honeycomb Hotel was a place of joy and cooperation. 14

Word spread even farther about the wonderful hotel. More travelers came, but Bella was never worried. She knew that with teamwork and kindness, anything was possible. Daisy and Flick waved goodbye, promising to return. 'We'll tell everyone about your hospitality!' they called. Bella waved back, her red bow bobbing. The hotel was ready for whatever came next. 15

And so, the Honeycomb Hotel thrived. Bella learned that asking for help is a sign of wisdom. The worker bees learned that building together is fun. And every guest learned that a warm welcome and a cozy room can make anyone feel at home. In the sunny meadow, the honeycomb shone like a golden beacon of friendship.
